12-Lead EKG
A detailed electrical portrait of your heart — fast, painless, and revealing.
What This Is
A 12-lead EKG is a non-invasive test that records the heart's electrical activity through electrodes placed on the chest and limbs. The twelve different views together give a detailed picture of how the heart's electrical system is functioning.
Why It Matters
The heart's electrical patterns can reveal rhythm irregularities, signs of past events, and structural concerns — often before symptoms appear. A clean baseline also makes future tracings far more useful for comparison.
What We Evaluate
- Heart rate and rhythm
- Electrical conduction and intervals
- Signs of prior cardiac events
- Patterns suggesting structural concerns
- A reference tracing for future comparison
What You Can Learn
- Whether your heart rhythm is regular and normal
- Whether any electrical patterns warrant follow-up
- A baseline tracing that makes future changes easier to interpret
- Reassurance or a clear reason to investigate further
How It Fits Into Your Journey
As a core Discovery assessment, the EKG anchors your cardiac baseline. Findings here can guide the deeper cardiac work in Phase 2.
What Happens Next
If anything requires attention, we coordinate appropriate follow-up. Otherwise, the tracing becomes a reference point for monitoring over time.
Frequently Asked
No. It is painless and quick — electrodes are placed on the skin and the recording takes only a few seconds.
Little to no preparation is needed. Avoiding heavy lotions on the chest and wearing a shirt that allows electrode placement helps.
An EKG is one important view of heart health but not a complete picture. Depending on findings, additional testing may be recommended.
